More cards

We have had a crazy week. It snowed and kept my children and grand kids from coming home for the Holidays, but they got to come later. I used all the time I would have been visiting to make more cards using then new Face Flowers set from Posh. I am ready to put these in the mail to Stamp A Mania. They are now selling the Posh Impressions products. Really nice company.

Anyway, here are the cards I made. The flowers were stamped on white cardstock and then cut out. All very simple cards. I think the flowers are so pretty.

I knitted like a fool to get things done for my family gifts. Worked so hard and I DID get them done! Then they couldn't come... Oh, well. They have them now.

My grand babies are growing so fast. They really love their Nana and Poppy! I guess it is because we do whatever they want all day long!! I'd love for someone to do that for me!

Next entry will probably be New Year's resolutions. We all have to make them. Doesn't say we have to keep them!

New Posh Stamps!

I am so excited. A brand new set of stamps from Stamp A Mania came in the mail today! It is one of the new Posh Impressions sets that I have been waiting for for a while. It is called "Face Flowers". It has 7 different flower stamps and 2 vines. It also has 2 sentiments. It is a neat set. Very good quality and I love the packaging. Anyway, I made this pansy card so everyone could see at least this much of it. I can't wait to do more. Maybe I'll get more done tomorrow!

Wintery Cards

I love snowmen! I have been so cold the last few days, thanks to a change in the weather, I thought of making snowmen cards. So here they are. The pink one is very glittery. Alas, you cannot see that very well with this picture. the blue one is my favorite. It does not have glitter, other than the one snowflake on the lower right. I had a good time making these. As you can see, I have some new punches from Marvy. They were bigger than I anticipated, but I like them.

We now have our Christmas tree up. It only has the lights on it. No decorations yet, but soon. Philip is back to being his Mr. Christmas self. I'm glad. I missed the old fellow.

Check back soon for pictures of the tree!

POSH Card

I have been busy making cards the last few days. I got some new punches from Marvy and have been playing with them and enjoying them. This card is a monochromatic offering using the Southwestern stamp set from Posh Impressions. The cute little roadrunner is just all over the place! I used the scalloped circle and the smaller regular circle punch to do the focus. The ribbon and the flowers and brad are from CTMH. Kinda fun.

I have been to see my kids and their families this last weekend. We had a great time. The kids are growing so fast. I don't want to miss a single thing they do! (and they do a lot!) I am going back on Monday for some deal I'm working on for myself. I'll fill you in later.

Fall is in the air around here. Leaves are all colors of yellow and green and falling off the trees. It is so pretty. Fall is my favorite season. I love the north wind blowing and the crisp leaves rattling against each other. I love to hear the kids across the street walking through the fallen leaves and crunching them. It tells me another year is nearly done. Christmas is coming and I am ready!

I am about halfway finished with one sock I am knitting. It is turning out quite nicely. Hope to be done with it soon. Time to let the dog out.

Fun Cards

It has been a while since I put anything up on the blog. I have not felt the best in the world lately. I am sure I will be on the mend soon, so I am anticipating the best and making an effort to put something up!

These two cards are ones I made as part of an order for my friend, Gayle. She may not want them now that the whole world (3 of you) have seen them. The first card is made with just plain cardstock and mostly CTMH stamps. The angel is made by an unknown company. Wish I could give them credit. It is a very simple card, with a few embellishments that kick it up a notch!

The second card is done with a stamp that my friend, Trudy, gave me. A sweet little birdie, perched on a flowering branch. Again very simple. The little round thing says, "a little birdie told me". It is pretty small so I was not sure you could read it. That stamp is by CTMH and the bird is unknown.

I have a new toy at my house. I have a Cricut machine that I got for Christmas. Actually, Philip bought it for me and gave it to me before Christmas! But it is still my Christmas present. I've been playing and having a lot of fun trying to figure it out.

Hope to have more POSH cards up soon. Waiting for some new stamps! Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Ground!

Ben and Logan

These two charming fellows are Ben and Logan Metler. They are my friend Gayle's grand sons. They are modeling the socks that I knitted for them a while back. They were very proud of them as you can see. Not too long ago, Ben informed me that he had lost his and needed me to make him another pair. This time could he please have "geen" ones. After so sweet a request, I need to go find Ben some geen yarn and get busy!

Ben is the youngest. Some of you will remember when I asked for prayer for the little boy that broke his hip. That was Ben. He is fine now. I have never seen such energy in one small body! He and his brother had birthdays last week. The party at the park was a great success. Lots of cake, lots of presents and lots of people. There were some kids that showed up that no one even knew! Go figure. That young and so popular!

New card

This is one of the new cards that I have sent to Stamp A Mania. This company is in the process of manufacturing and selling Posh Impression stamps. The stamps on this card are from the Hugs and Love Vertical Inspiration set. I love the ladybug. It's cute!

I have had a couple of whirlwind days getting some cards ready to upload and then send to SAM. It seems like everything just got busy, busy. I love being busy stamping!

I have finished the baby blanket for Kellie's soon to be born baby! I will take a picture of it and show you. It is much less "girly" than the first one and I'm quite pleased with it. I think the girly one will end up going to my Hannah. She needs a blankie to hold, I think.

My sweet husband, Philip, had major dental stuff done yesterday and is a little puny today. I made a wonderful bread pudding for him. At least, it looks wonderful. It's too hot to taste right now. Maybe he will enjoy the softness of it. Hope so. Poor baby.

Lady bugs and blankets are finished, so on to the next thing...whatever that may be!

Design Team

I have recently been asked to be on a design team for a company called Stamp A Mania. They are beginning production and sales of stamps and products by Dee Gruenig. She makes some of the cutest and prettiest stamps. A very talented artist. I am glad to be a part of this new venture and will show you my new creations as soon as I have something to show! I should get a kit or packet of some kind soon so I can start working on my new creations! If you want to see some of Dee's creations, go to www.poshimpressions.com .

I am also a moderator on Club Posh. This is an online stamping club with close to 5,000 members. There are some very neat, talented people on there. Drop by to see what they are all about!

Will have pictures of the new baby blanket soon. It's almost half done. I think it looks more boyish than the last one. I'm pleased with it! Hope the baby will like it.

Baby Blanket

Only a few more rows and this little cute baby blanket will be finished. It is so bright and pretty. There is a problem, though. It looks like a little girl and not a boy! It has too much pink and berry colors in it, I think. So as soon as it comes off the needles, I'm casting on again and this time doing one without all the pink. I have a lot of thread left.

In fact, Lion Brand Yarn made a mistake and sent me the same order twice! So I have double the amount I would have. They also charged me for both orders. There is a big mixup because they don't see that they sent me 2 orders and they only show I've paid once. My bank says different. So I may have enough yarn to make 6 blankets when it's all said and done!

I am about to go and try a new card technique that I read on www.Poshimpressions.com this morning. It involves making a cuttlebuged piece of paper glittery! I'll show it when I get done if it turns out good. Good think about this blog, you see what I want you to see and all the mistakes are forever hidden from you!! Nice of me, huh?

By the way, the red flowered thing under the baby blanket is my couch!

Knitting smiles!

As promised, here is a little bit of knitting. The top picture is the full view of a completed baby blanket. Complete except for blocking. I don't like to block. I'll leave it til the last possible moment. The next one is a close up of the design. You can't see it that well. It has squares and in the squares are hearts and rectangles. Some squares are blank.

The last picture is a picture of the yarn I ordered from Lion Brand Yarn. I have been waiting for the package for a long while and I'm so excited to finally get it! I had it out of the box and on the needles in less than 10 minutes! I think it is going to be very pretty and colorful. It is done on size 13 needles, so it will go very quickly. Two threads are carried at the same time, so it will also be very warm. It feels wonderful and soft. One strand is Cotton Ease and the other is Vanna's Choice Baby. The pattern is called Sunshine Day Baby Throw and is free on the Lion Brand web site. www.lionbrand.com .

More Stamping

These three cards are using Close To My Heart stamps, paper, ink and embellishments. I love my Posh stamps, but I use different brands and styles to suit my moods! Generally I use at least one Posh stamp in a card, but these three are all CTMH. The first one is very straight forward. No cool techniques used. Just a bunch of stuff stuck together. The other two, however, have a little more "tech" work.

The "Life is Good" card has a panel of paper that has been put through the Cuttlebug machine. I then did direct to paper with Versamark ink only on the embossed tops of the design. I embossed it with clear EP. That made it look shiny in the high places. A few brads and some sponging and cutting with scalloped scissors made that one done.

The bottom card has the green pieces that were put through the CB machine. The folder was inked with Juniper dye based ink directly from the ink pad onto the plastic. White card stock was then put in the folder and embossed. It made the base Juniper colored and the tops of the embossed paper remained white. It did not look finished, and I could not figure out what to do with it. I left it and when I came back, I had a "Waa-Laa" moment! Pearls. I don't know if you can see them very well on the pic, but there are pearls around the edge of the card and in the middle of the flower.

Sometimes I have ideas that just keep coming. Other times I have to drag them out of my brain kicking and screaming. I know they are in there. They are just comfortable where they are and would rather not come out! Maybe tomorrow I'll show some knitting I just finished.

My Grand Children

These are my grand babies in order of acquisition. Top pic is Abigail who is five years old. She is a big school girl and gets green smiley faces for being good. This pic shows her first tooth loss. She loves to stamp and spray colors and ride the Nana Chair (my wheelchair).

The next precious and precocious child is Hannah. She is two. She has recently had a broken leg. Her cast is off and she is allowed to walk, but won't. She's not ready. When she's ready I guess she will.

The next handsome fellow is Dillon. He is eight and he became ours when my daughter, Katherine, married his dad, Darin, when Hannah was a baby. He used to love Thomas the Train, but has outgrown Thomas and friends. He does, however, love Leggos. He can make anything with them. I never have seen such a thing.

Abby and Hannah belong to my son, Andrew, and his wife, Stacie. All my kids live in the same town, for now, and it makes it nice to go visit. Soon Katy and Darin will go to Pennsylvania to live, after he gets out of the Air Force.

Just thought you would like to meet my family. I'll put MY kids and my husband up another time. This time was for little kids. You can tell I am a very proud Nana! They are the sunshine of my life. I am pretty sure they like me, too.

Cute cards!

I made these cute cards (at least I think they are cute) using a new set of stamps from Posh Impressions. I have recently been asked to design some cards for them to use in conjunction with the debut of their line of stamps at a new company! I am really excited. These stamps are so cute. I think my grand children, Abigail, Hannah and Dillon will love them. Abby and Dillon are great stampers. Hannah is too young to do it yet, but I have high hopes!

The first card uses glossy white with the images stamped with Blending Blox ink. I layered the card using a tropical blue card then a gold piece of card stock that I ran through my lovely little cuttlebug machine. The second card has same elements, but directly onto a plain card. I did some of the color work with Marvy markers directly onto the stamp and then to the paper after huffing on the stamp to re-moisten the ink.

I am feeling some better this afternoon. My body does not want to co-operate with my mind! I want so badly to get busy and do things that need to be done. Slowly, but surely, I will get it all done!

I am anticipating the arrival of a shipment of yarn to create a baby blanket for, Kellie, my Daughter-in-law's sister. It is not your usual baby blue and pink, it is vibrant and bright. I hope the little fellow likes it. At least I hope his mama likes it. The baby is not due for a few weeks, so maybe I'll get it done quickly. I'll show you when I get it.

Backgrounds

I did these backgrounds last night in honor of National Scrapbooking Day! It was after midnight when I did them, so it counts. I won't use these in a scrap book, though. They are for cards. These were made by using StampZia color sprays on watercolor paper. I used a paper flower for the "shadows" in them. I then ran them through my Cuttlebug using various folders. I think they turned out pretty good. Can't say so much about my photography. Hopefully I'll improve.

I may be the only one who ever looks at this stuff, but so far it is fun!

Another time I will write more about "who I am" or "who I think I am", but now, just look at the backgrounds.

First Post

I get so much enjoyment out of keeping up with my friend, Amy, on her blog, that I decided to see if this may be something I want to do. My moods change from day to day lately and I feel like I need another expressive outlet! I don't want this to become Laela's gripe forum. I just want to have a place to talk about things that are important to me. For instance, my card making and stamping are a very big part of my life. I love to knit and talk about knitting. I love to make socks! I am beginning to enjoy the computer more than I ever have before, so I think this is a natural progression for me.
I hope to show some pictures of my card and knitting. I also hope to get comments from people I know and those I don't. This may not be my cup of tea, but I won't know til I try! Here's to a new thing!
